About
Founded in 2003, The Vine Christian School offers
Christian parents the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with the
school in fulfilling their God given responsibility of providing a
Bible based education for their children.
The school is housed alongside the South of
Reading Christian Fellowship at Three Mile Cross village on the
outskirts of Reading. The Rev. John Angliss, (current pastor at
South Of Reading Christian Fellowship SORCF), is also the school
pastor providing regular spiritual input into the school, under the
guidance of the Board of Trustees and Management Team.
The trustees and teachers at the school believe that
Christian education teaches all subjects from a Biblical stand
point, allowing all aspects of school life to be permeated by
Christian truth.
Individual learning plan
The Vine Christian
School uses the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum
from School of Tomorrow which is an individualized, self
instructional, Bible-based curriculum. Students have their own
individual learning plan, working at an academic level appropriate
for them and progressing at their own pace.
The students use a work
book known as PACES's in the core curriculum of Maths, English,
Literature, Creative writing, Social studies (History & Geography),
Science, Word building (Spelling), and Bible Reading. In addition to
the core curriculum, further instructional programmes in subjects
such as music, art, and sport are organised.
Student reading and ABC's
Students who start
school at 5 years old, and who score 80% or above on a reading
readiness test follow the ABC's with 'ACE and Christi' course which
is a proven multi sensory, phonetic, learning-to-read programme. The
programme develops a strong phonetic foundation, builds Biblical
character and includes basic numeracy skills. It prepares students
for their progression to the Learning Centre and PACE work.

school is split into the following student groupings:
